Healthcare

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is proud to announce the official opening of its new 75,000-square-foot outpatient center, built by Skender. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the new  facility located at 1895 Arbor Glen Blvd., Schaumburg, Illinois.

Lurie Children’s Outpatient Center in Schaumburg will begin seeing patients the same week, expanding Lurie Children’s presence in the northwest suburbs and consolidating services from former locations in Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, and Huntley into one state-of-the-art facility.

The new Schaumburg location brings expert pediatric care closer to home for families in the northwest suburbs. The hospital’s outpatient center will offer a wide range of specialties and an ambulatory infusion center, making high-quality care more convenient than ever. Specialty services include Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, Epilepsy, Pulmonology and more.

“We’re thrilled to open our doors in Schaumburg and provide more convenient access to high-quality pediatric care for children and families in the region. This new center ensures that our patients can receive the top pediatric care in Illinois closer to where they live. It reflects our ongoing commitment to meet families where they are, and to provide the same nationally recognized expertise they expect from Lurie Children’s—now in their own community.”
Thomas Shanley, MD
President & CEO, Lurie Children’s

Designed with children and families in mind, the Schaumburg center will deliver the same level of excellence and family-centered care that Lurie Children’s is known for across its growing network.

The project team included HKS as the architect, Skender as the general contractor, IMEG Corp. as structural and mechanical engineers, and V3 Companies as civil engineers.

“As builders, our greatest responsibility is to create spaces that serve people. This new outpatient center is a promise to the families of Schaumburg and the surrounding communities that exceptional care is never out of reach. We couldn’t be prouder to help make that possible.”

Vice President, Skender
